Rescue Organizations

For all of you who have been awaiting the return of this website, I apologize for the delay.   The ISP we had been using suddenly, without warning, eliminated all web pages and files we had stored on the site.   We have since changed providers (hence the different contact email at the bottom), and are grateful to FreeHyperSpace for letting us use their free webhosting service.

I have gone through all the entries on this page to double-check for current accuracy (as far as I can determine from the webpages of the individual lab rescue groups).  Meanwhile, if any of you notice that your contact information is now incorrect, please let me know the corrections again (at my new contact email) and I will try to get the correct info up as quickly as possible.  Similarly, if you are a new group and would like to be added to this page, please email me and let me know.

One final technical note: I do not run a lab rescue, nor do I work for one.  Aside from the information on this webpage, which I try to keep current as time permits, I do not know where any specific individual can find a lab to adopt, find someone to rescue a particular lab, or find someone to take his/her own lab.  Please limit emails to me to correcting or updating information for this site.  Thank you so much!

Adopting a labrador lets you save the life of a precious dog at the same time you are enriching your life with a labby friend.  Furthermore, adopting an adult dog lets you know ahead of time what temperament, size, etc. the dog will have for the remainder of your relationship together.  No surprises!  (well, fewer, anyway)  Please consider adoption!

The following table organizes lab rescue organizations in the U.S. by state.  For each organization, I have included as much contact information as was available on that organization's website: where possible, I have listed address, phone number, email address, and website address.  I've also included notes about the group that may be helpful.

Following the table is a section on spaying and neutering pets.  Please, whether or not you adopt from a rescue organization, spay or neuter your pets!

This is possibly the most important pet-welfare decision you will make in your life.  Why spay or neuter?  By preventing unwanted litters from your pets, you are helping to be part of the solution to the terrible problem of pet overpopulation in this country.  You are also saving countless lives from ending up in "kill" animal shelters. Please spay or neuter your pets!
