Our Pets
We have had the joys of family pet-ownership for many good years. Sharing our lives with furry friends has been excellent preperation
for parenthood, and I believe that owning pets has really opened my eyes to the variable personalities of what I tended in college to think
of as "mere" pets. Mere, indeed! I have been humbled by what I have witnessed of the love and devotion of animals; entertained by
their very individual quirks; delighted by their obvious ability to enjoy play.
Our Cats' Page
I have wanted to own a pet cat for as long as I can remember. As a child, my mother was very allergic to cats (as was I), so I was
never able to live with a cat. In fact, although I enjoyed the cats of many friends growing up, I didn't actually live with a cat until
I moved to Georgia and began graduate school. The first cat I personally adopted was Nimue, and she currently rules our house as alpha
cat.
Our Dogs' Page
I was bitten by the "get a dog" bug several years ago when we visited friends who had a very sweet, calm labrador retriever.
As we were to learn through personal experience when we adopted our hyper, hyper, hyper, 105-pound yellow lab Buck, this is not necessarily
the norm! Nevertheless, we dearly love our crazy doggies.
Rainbow Bridge
The pets we have lost are not lost to us in memory, and I believe we will reunite someday. This page is dedicated to them.
