Labrador Retriever Rescue Organizations

Adding a canine member to your family is a big decision.  When my husband and I decided we wanted a labrador retriever, we knew we wanted to adopt one in need of a home rather than going through a breeder.  When I tried to find lab rescue organizations listed online, however, I ran into brick wall after brick wall - it seemed that every site I ran into that listed lab rescues consisted largely of broken links.  We ultimately adopted a beautiful, hyper, sweet yellow lab from a lab rescue that later closed (and, in the process, we learned how important it is to make sure that a rescue organization matches you with a dog of the temperment you are seeking... we love our Buck dearly, but we would not have chosen such a high-energy dog!).

The lack of good information on where to adopt labs troubled me for months.  Eventually, I decided to rectify the problem by posting links to the many sites I'd found during my own search for labrador retriever rescue organizations... and this website was born.  It has gone through several iterations.  After total destruction of the site when our previous ISP closed their web hosting down without warning, we have now moved the site to a free web hosting service provider that is independent of any ISP.  We are still in the process of getting back into the webrings the site previously belonged to, so please excuse our growing pains.
